William H Hornigold was born on the 21st of November 1866 in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, England. He was the son of William Hornigold and ELIZABETH BULLEN.
In 1871 when he was 4 years old he was living with his family at Belvior House, Hunstanton, Norfolk in England. In the years after that he emigrated with his family to South Africa sometime before 1881.
He married JOHANNA MATILDA BROWN on 03 Feb 1892 in St Paul's Church in Port Elizabeth, South Africa;

The burial service took place at St Mary’s Church in Port Elizabeth and he was buried in the South End Cemetery in Port Elizabeth. He did not leave a will but had a small estate with cash in the bank and household property which was distributed to his wife and nine children who were left in a state of destitution after his death.
